Ingredients

For the rolls

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 4 tsp granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • tsp baking soda
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • 4 tbsp butter cold, cut into cubes
  • cup whole milk

For the cinnamon filling

  • 2 tbsp butter melted
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon

for the cream cheese icing

  • 2 oz cream cheese softened
  • 1 tbsp butter softened
  • ½ cup powdered sugar
  • ¼ tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp milk optional

Instructions

Make the cinnamon rolls

  • Preheat the air fryer to 320°F. Grease a 7 inch round cake pan.
  • Add the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt to a mixing bowl. Stir together.
  • Add the butter and use a couple of forks or your fingers to smash the butter into the flour mixture until it looks like damp sand.
  • Stir in the milk. The dough should come together in a soft clump.
  • Place the dough on a floured counter and roll out into a 9 x 12 rectangle.
  • Mix the ingredients for the cinnamon filling together in a bowl.
  • Spread the filling over the dough.
  • Start at one of the short sides of the dough and roll it up into a log.
  • Cut the log into 6 sections (about 1 ½ inches wide) and place them into the cake pan.
  • Place the pan into the air fryer basket and bake for 10 to 14 minutes.

Make the icing

  • While the cinnamon rolls bake, make the icing. Place the cream cheese and the butter in a bowl and stir well.
  • Add the powdered sugar and vanilla and stir until creamy. Stir in the milk if you want a thinner icing.
  • Remove the rolls from the air fryer and drizzle the glaze over the top.
  • Serve while worm and gooey!

Notes

Air Fryer Timing

Different models of air fryers bake at different rates. Check the cinnamon rolls after 10 minutes, then continue baking until the dough is cooked through and the tops are lightly golden.

Pan Size

A 7-inch round cake pan works well for this recipe, but you can also use a 6-inch square cake pan if that fits your air fryer better. Make sure the pan leaves enough room for air to circulate around it.

Cutting The Rolls

Cut the dough log into 6 even rolls so they bake at the same rate. If the rolls are different sizes, the smaller ones may finish before the larger ones.

Icing The Cinnamon Rolls

Add the cream cheese icing while the cinnamon rolls are still warm so it melts slightly over the tops. For a thicker icing, skip the optional milk or add it only a little at a time.
